I wish they had an app for this....

Hallelujah!

All of my classes have finished for the semester, and now all I have left is a few finals. It feels so good to be finished with a course load; and one step closer to graduation.

This semester has been loaded with projects. It has been tough work, but also very rewarding.

This semester all of the courses I took really focused on applying the knowledge that we've all ready gained through pre-requisites. Compiling each presentation and product pitch was daunting; until I grew in my confidence and realized that: "I already know what needs to be done, and how best to do it!" It is an empowering felling.

For my marketing final project we were encouraged to envision a product with unique attributes to ease the stress of every day life.

My project, Denada: A smart phone app and key chain, that allows the user to "call there keys" on a cellular network to help locate misplaced keys. I think its genius, and I certainly would benefit from the app...(patent pending)

Pumpkin Free Jack-O-Lanterns

I love the magic of Halloween. The fear, the adrenaline, the wanting to experience a somewhat occult evening. I love Halloween; it's the perfect combination of:  costumes, candy, parties, candles, and mystery.

There is something so friendly about a freshly carved gruesome jack-o-lantern. His smile might be cynical, but the invitation to trick or treat is welcoming. I love the way a Jack-O-Lantern lights up the night, while still casting nervous shadows.

I live in an Apartment, and therefor get no trick-or-treaters. As much as I would love to carve a pumpkin I'm short on time, and don't really have the space. I've decided that just because I don't have the time or room for a giant Pumpkin mess does not mean that I should suffer through an unfestive Halloween.

I was at target over the weekend, and saw a few festive lights. My creative juices started flowing and I figured out a way to get the lighting of a Jack-O-Lantern sans the mess.

All You'll Need is:
Mason Jars
A Glue Gun
Colored Tissue Paper
Scissors
And A Non-Flame Candle

Decorate the Jars however you wish and enjoy, the not so spooky, illumination.

Horse around creatively

Staring at a wall, blankly, for hours on end, will burn only an image of the wall into your mind. Staring at a wall with ideas, possibility, and an openness will inadvertently cause you an influx of creativity. One day, years ago, I was crying about something ridiculous and complaining to my dad, about how creativity is void in our lives/world.

He looked me in the eye, and said: " Kendra, creativity is all around us. A doctor can be creative when finding a diagnosis, a business man can be creative in strategy execution, as an artist can be creative with the colours and textures in their paint box. Creativity is simply a willingness to explore the unexplored frontiers of your mind and the problem at hand. Creativity, exists when you ignore previous judgments and look at a tired problem with afresh perspective."

Creativity is play. The lost concept is all around us; waiting to be engaged. For every action in life there is a chance of creation, and creative exploration. To be creative; is to not fear failure, and to not fear the snickering behind ones back. Other peoples opinions of us, are none of our concerns. People snicker because they don't understand. Personally, I rather be a page ahead as opposed to ten behind.

The discovery of North America, was a creative exploration gone horribly wrong. Columbus was searching for a shortcut to Asia when stumbling upon our content. If Columbus had not feared the exploration, maybe North America would never have been discover. SO...Create, create, create, there are opportunities at every glances. You Just need to open your eyes.

My Little Pony Hair might be a lost a exploration
Or a radical Find.
Creativity is the possessions of the creator. Creations, or Art of
any sort matters most to the creator. Other opinions,
Virtually meaningless.

Creativity

As children, we are picked on and crucified for the zany ideas and unconventional manners we possess. As adults the curse of creativity subsides as straight thinkers force creativity into their conscience and we the creative rise.

Our rise is riddled with insecurity, and self doubt. Like the Lioness we may be in position of grace- yet we don't have the bold mane of her king to demand attention. Instead we learn the subtleties of grace. The art of sharing our ideas and letting other take credit.

To be the leoness, you have to bold, courageous, compassionate, and fierce. You represent ideal- you love, you're burned, but you never give up on finding truth.

I aspire to be a Leoness. Enjoy my endeavours and share your thoughts.
