Fit: Cardio Balance!

Fitness for me is a lifestyle, I love it. I need it, and I crave the sweat related endorphins. I am happiest when my daily routine includes a workout, of any sort. I'm huge into the Tracy Anderson Method, because it employs both muscle toning and cardio conditioning exercises. The method works for me.

workouts need to have variety, they need to change especially as fitness goals are reached. Our body is inherently lazy; and once it figures out the muscle memory to master a move it will rely on memory, instead of engagement. To avoid cardio/fitness plateaus switch up your workout. Alternate your cardio, and force your body to engage in the work, and to maintain focus.

I've put together a 10 minute cardio routine, that alternates between a mini-trampoline and the floor. The differences in the surfaces of the floor and the tramp will help challenge you balance forcing you to engage active mental concentration.

Try the routine once, and repeat as often as you'd like.
- Cheers to You, and your fitness goals.

Muscle Memory: Tramp & Floor

Muscles are smart, and lazy. Muscle Memory, is a form of procedural memory that enables one to achieve a level of expertise in an activity through muscle repetition. When developing muscle memory nerves in our muscles respond with the brain to snap shot the level of muscle engagement required to pull off the task. Initially the activity will be challenging; however the repetition the activity will become quite elementary.

When committing an activity to muscle memory it is important to focus on proper technique and alignment. Failure to do will commit the flawed practice to memory; and make it that much more difficult to break the habit. Muscle memory needs to be challenged, and the brain needs to be engaged in order for the body to get the most out of a workout. One way to do that is to switch up the intensity levels with in a workout, or to change up the surface of activity.

In this rebounding workout, the body in challenged by moving across the hard surface of the floor and the bouncy surface of the mini trampoline. As you move across the different surface pay attention to the change in muscle engagement. This workout inspired by The Tracy Anderson Method will help you break through fitness plateaus.

Happy Tramping!

Post-Thanksgining Cardio

If you are anything like me you have been enjoying the goodies of the season and starting to feel a little umm...burnt out/ worried that you might not be able to fit into that wicked New Years cocktail dress you've been eyeing. My solution is a Tracy Anderson inspired trampoline Cardio session.

Urban Rebounding has recently been featured on "The Doctors." The show highlighted the massive health benefits of rebounding which include: a lymphatic shake, increased muscular strength, increased balance, and an easy on the joints cardio workout.  Urban rebounding is a fun way to bounce back into fitness; just 10-30 minutes a day on a mini tramp can transform your workout,  detoxify your body, and burn off all the Thanksgiving feasting.

Tracy Anderson my fitness idol has long incorporated urban tramps into her workouts, and I have added a new low impact high calorie tramp workout  as a holiday workout bonus.

Monster Tramp! Cardio ball.

Attending a Monster Ball, or stuffing your face with Halloween Candy?

Just because it is the season, of over indulgence does not mean your workout and motivation should be pushed to the side of the plate like the infamous brussel sprouts. The Chaos that is the Holidays is coming fast; motivation and maintaining exercises routines is crucial.  If you treat your self to Junk, be sure to treat your self with a workout or splurge on a cute workout outfit (lulu lemon?).

Stay motivated, and stay in the game. Stash workout cloths in your car, office, back-pack, and your overnight bag. The more accessible you make your fitness goals the more the real they become. I am hooked on the Tracy Anderson Method, which can be done from the comfort of home.

A daily sweat session helps to lift your mood and erase any and all stress...which is far to common during the holiday season. For an easy Tramp workout just follow below, and have fun mixing is season songs to your workout playlist.

Happy Tramp'n!

Start with a warm up, move your whole body and relax.

(The music does have some explicit lyrics, just a warning)
Kick up the cardio and play with rhythms.

Great Job, Keep up the motvation.
