Beautiful Skin Diet

Take a stole through any department store, drugstore, or even specialty store; Chances are the sheer quantity and variety of skin care products promising to cure any and every epidermis related ailment will cause momentary confusion and disorientating. In my skin dry, oily, sensitive...? ahhh, I don't know. Like Bra's a perfect skin care match is hard to determine. Many woman treat the symptoms of their skin problems and not the cause.

I struggle with dry skin. To combat it I try to keep myself well hydrated. However, when the season change my t-zone will produce shine like a mirror, and begin t slowly cultivate a spectacular collection of whiteheads (not so pretty). In the past I would go on an acne killing spree. I would fight oily skin, which in turn only intensified my dry skin problem. Our skin, and its appearance is a reflection of our health. The foods we eat do contribute to the appearance of our pores. To prevent skin irritation, think holistically and include skin saving nutrients into your diet.

For Overall Healthy Skin: Add Vitamin A, Vitamin A in an anti-oxidant that prevents cellular damage, acne, and premature aging. Vitamin A is found in mango's, spinach, low fat yogurt.

To Fight Acne: Add Zinc into your diet, consider supplements (25-50 mgs).

To fight wrinkles:  Add fatty acids (omega 3's) to your diet via nuts and cold water fish (salmon). Omega 3's are responsible for healthy cell membranes which help transport nutrients throughout the body. Cell membrane hold water, so the healthier and more hydrated they are the plumber younger looking your skin will be.

For Beautiful skin, think fresh fruits and vegetables, and remember to stay well hydrated

On a Diet- My purse.

Shoes and purses, purses and shoes, purses, and day bags, and clutches, purses for winter, and purses for fall... and something extra special to lift my mood on one of those horrible days. I love my purses; probably even more than my shoes. My purse in action is like my apartment away from home; everything I need is tucked safely between the gently worn leather.

As a four year old, I was like Linus, from Charlie Brown. My blanket and I were inseparable. As an adult I'm still like Linus, except instead of my blanket I'm attached to security of my fashion forward keeper of wallets, cell phone, keys, makeup, and random crap I collect through out my day. I go nowhere without my purse (or an equivalent).

Dr. Oz, recently did a show on purses after a medical journal concluded a study about increased neck and shoulder pain in woman age 26 and up. I was confused at first; how can there be a connection between my fabulous Folly&Corinna bag and the tension in my neck? The article explained that over the past 10 years (2002-Today) our purses on average have gained 5-8lbs. We are loading up our purses with more electronics; while not substituting out more traditional daily must haves.

On the Purse Show Dr. Oz did, he weighed the purse of every audience member. The weight range  ran from 5-15lbs with the median at 8lbs. For good spinal health our purses should weigh in the range of 3-5lbs (with 5 as a maximum).

When we load up our purses like a Santa Claus bag, and carry them on our arm, the weight of the purse pulls the shoulder down. Which causes the hip to push out and the neck to strain. Modern Medicine magazine recommends reducing the weight of the bag and to use the longer strap for tote'n around town.

When we run around with our purse hanging off one shoulder, the shoulder hikes up to lock the purse to our person. When the shoulder hikes up the muscles can freeze in a contracted position which create a stiff neck effect and can lead to intense migraines. In addition the opposite hip hikes up to balance the alignment which in turn can cause a curvature of the spine.  To reduce this discomfort health care practitioners recommend First, reducing the weight of the bag, and secondly to use the long strap as a cross-body strap.

Like so.

Changing the way we carry our purse can help to reduce purse related alignment issues. Putting our purses on a diet is a preventative cure for future alignment related neck, shoulder, and back pains. Before you leave the house, check your purse. Get rid of the clutter and stick to the basics.

In your Purse you should always have: your wallet, some mad cash, cell phone, keys, Advil, a serving of almonds, a small tube of hand cream, lip chap, a pen, your business cards, and a tide to go. That's all you need.

There is no need to pack your purse like an overnight bag or in preparation for a ten day hike. If you need to tote around extras pack a separate bag and keep it in your car or office.

Protect your alignment; starve your purse.

Magically Fit

There is no such thing as a quick fix. Achieving your ideal fitness is a result of commitment to your goal, and adjusting your lifestyle. In the past few years companies like Sketchers and Reebok have had huge success through the innovation of traditional training shoes: The toning shoe.

Sketchers Shape Ups, and Reebok's Easy tone claim to incorporate leading edge fitness science to grant the user a super hot backside instantly. Rebook claimed that just putting your foot into an easy tone shoe, could tighten your ass 28% more effectively than other shoes.

The claim Reebok made concerning its product benefit was investigated by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC).  Reebok has since made a $25 million settlement with FTC over deceptive marketing. The research done by the FTC concluded that minimal benefits may be temporally achieved; however in contrast the toning shoes have actually caused more harm. A record number of customer complaints for any one product has been associated with toning shoes. The shoes may cause serious injury including but limited to sprains, strains, fractures, and the material alteration of walking gait mechanics.

Toning shoes are designed to challenge your balance: they add a core stability challenge to walking. Kind of like how high heels challenge your balance. The problem is, toning shoes are being sold and marketed as an exercises shoe, not as a special occasions shoe. I don't know many people who exercises is massive stilettos; so why risk toning shoes?

If you want get toned, you have to put in the effort. Find work out that fit, and combine cardio and muscles structure work.

Try this Tracy Anderson Leg workout; your ass will thank you.

Fat Lashes

When it comes to fat there is one body part I want maximized; and it isn't my Kim Kardashian butt. I want Fat, voluptuous, lashes. Mascara: I can't live with out it.

Mascara is a miracle worker. To just apply it leaves you feeling vitalized and fresh faced. I'm a mascara addict. I must have at least 6 different kind of mascara in my make up bag each with their own unique characteristics.

I use a rich brown mascara for days I don't have time to do make up. The brown looks less harsh against the face. I have a waterproof for the gym, and all sorts of lengthening, voluming, and condition mascaras. The way I see it is you cant go wrong with mascara.

When I stated wearing makeup, my mom instilled in me to never use someone elses mascara or to wear mascara older than 6 months. She's a doctor, so I take her advice seriously. I sometimes wanna stretch the life of a mascara but if starts to clump its time to say goodbye.  The 6 month life of mascara is to long, according to recent health research. Mascara should be trashed every three months. Failure to do so can cause: Red eye, pink-eye, itchy eyes, and conjunctivitis.

Think about it- Our eyelashes evolved for the function of protecting our eyes. They catch all sorts of bacteria. When every we comb our lash lashes with the applicator what ever was on the hair is now on the brush and back in the tube. Mascara is moist and usually stored at room temperature. The Perfect breading ground for nasty bacterias.

I'm not trying to freak you, Mascara is my go to beauty product love. Bacteria build up can be easily reduced by combing your eyelashes with a separate wand/comb before applying, by roatating the applicator into the tube, and by always removing left over makeup before applying new makeup. Beauty experts say that if there is one product to cheap on it would be mascara. There is virtually no difference between a $10 tube and a $20 tube.

It's easy: for healthy eyes toss the tube every 90 days.
