Horoscopes: March 12- 18

Happy Monday! One of the perks of being a student; is all the holidays. I am on spring break- and I am so excited for a week of play. I'm home in Banff; where the snow is mind boggling good and I can't wait to do powder laps in Delirium Dive at Sunshine Village. 

As I was walking down town last evening, I came across some tourists actively conducting a wild life photo shoot. The models were some "teenage" deer. For purpose of story telling I named the uber photogenic deer Fabio. Fabio, had this male model attitude that accompanied a perfect zoolander look. It was hilarious. He would pose- smile- and hold the frame like a high paid pro. Fabio made me smile.  As  I enjoy my week off, I going to remember to find inspiration and beauty in the patternless flow.  I am going to challenge myself with seeing the old in a fresh perspective. Pisces:

There's no question that this month you're determined to wrap up old financial matters. You want to clean this stuff up! Some of you are dealing with old problems at work. And for many, if you're looking for work, retrace your steps and apply where you worked before or where you might've applied before. However, this is a lovely week for you! You feel happy, optimistic, excited and playful. Something about your everyday surroundings is more upbeat. You're enthusiastic about whatever is happening. Aries:

You'll feel this particular Mercury retrograde because it starts off in your sign and then retrogrades into Pisces on March 23. It is virtually a strong Aries hit. ("Agent down!") Your best defense is to allow extra time for everything and be extra mindful about what you say to others and where you put things. You can also expect to run into ex-partners and old friends, which could be delightful or horrific depending on the past. The good news, however, is lots of wonderful activity is taking place in your House of Earnings. Expect more money. Expect more goodies. You will probably buy yourself lovely things as well. You might even see new ways of earning money. Ka-ching!

Taurus:

This is a powerful and wonderful time for you. For starters, this Mercury retrograde can be useful to you because it will hugely facilitate any kind of research you're doing. In other words, if you're digging for answers or solutions, you can easily find them. Beyond that, both Jupiter and Venus line up in your sign this week (which is fantastic), in addition to which, they're enjoying a lovely dance with Pluto and Mars. It's a great time for creativity and artistic efforts. New opportunities to travel or explore publishing, legal matters and even belief systems might evolve. Gemini:

Mercury is your ruler, and this month everyone is in the thick of Mercury retrograde. Expect communication snafus and lots of silly errors that cause inefficiency and frustrations. You'll definitely be in contact with friends from your past, this is a certainty. What is interesting is these contacts might prompt you to modify your goals for the future in some way. Privately, you feel inspired about something or by someone. You feel more in touch with what is good within you (if that doesn't sound too corny). Even though children are a big responsibility for many of you, you have a sense of getting closer to what it is you really want to do. Maybe you just have to give yourself permission?

  

Cancer:

It's been decades since Mercury retrograde took place at the top of your chart. This is new! Essentially, it means you'll be in contact with authority figures from your past: bosses, parents, teachers and VIPs. This could be an opportunity for closure. It's a bit touch-and-go for your sign because Mercury retrograde will impact your travel. In other words, trips could be delayed, changed or complicated. (I hate it when "it's complicated.") You can also expect confusion regarding the media, television, radio and publishing, as well as anything to do with higher education, medicine and the law. This is the downside. The upside is that past projects in publishing, higher education and the media will be unusually easy to finish. (Yes!) Meanwhile, your reputation is shining! Everyone notices you and is totally impressed. This is a good week to ask for a raise or promotion, or for anything that can promote your good name. "Look at me!"

Virgo:

The month ahead is an excellent time to deal with old matters related to taxes, debt, bills, insurance, inheritances and shared property. You can accomplish a lot. Your energy plus the energy of the universe will facilitate your attempts to wrap up loose ends in these areas. Things will fall into place like magic. ("Afghanistanbananastan!") Meanwhile, wonderful opportunities to travel for pleasure and explore romance with people from other countries and different backgrounds exist for you this week. (Hola!) In addition, favourable situations with the media, higher education, publishing, medicine and the law also exist. Milk this for all it's worth!

Libra:

This is a beneficial week for you. Of course, Mercury retrograde is opposite your sign, which means you'll be dealing with ex-partners more than usual or they will figure in your life in some way. ("Go! And never darken my towels again.") But the major benefit for you will be financial. It looks like all kinds of gifts, goodies and favours from others will come your way. Some of you will inherit, others will benefit indirectly through your partner's raise or bonus. All these good vibes can also translate into great sex for many of you. (Woody Allen was right. "Having sex is like playing bridge. If you don't have a good partner, you'd better have a good hand.")

Scorpio:

You can't avoid it. This Mercury retrograde is hitting you in your job, your health, and anything regarding small pets. (Whaaat?) This means you might lose your pet or have silly frustrations with your precious friend in the next month. ("Oh where, oh where, has my little dog gone?") The angst in your job will be classic: cancelled meetings, staff shortages, lost paperwork, cheques late in the mail, missed deliveries, confused communications, equipment breakdowns and power outages. Oy vey! But hey, there is an upside. You can also finish or wrap up a tremendous amount of work that has already begun. Just do it. Meanwhile, friendships and partnerships blossom beautifully!

Sagittarius:

Things are looking so good in your job! Of course, you expected this because this is the year when you can get a better job or improve your existing job, or at least get a few perks or make where you work more attractive and beautiful - something! This week is a beauty! Ask for a raise. Ask for a promotion. Ask for anything you want. The odds are you'll get it. Work-related travel is likely. Even romance might spring up at work. It's all good and it should lead to increased earnings and a better reputation with bosses. Meanwhile, old flames are back on the scene along with a prior situation with kids. t's fun city for Capricorns this week! Time to par-tay! In varying degrees (the extent to which you socialize on a regular basis), you'll enjoy parties, the theatre, sports events, fun occasions, flirtations, love affairs, romances and getaway vacations. Playful times with children will delight. Your motto this week is, "Be happy! Have fun!" And why not? After all, you're a hard-working sign and you are reaping the rewards of the seeds you have planted in the last decade. Why not enjoy yourself? Live a little! Aquarius:

I figure forewarned is forearmed so let's take a look at this again. Mercury retrograde is actually taking place in its own home this time when it comes to the chart of Aquarius. That's almost a surefire guarantee for transportation delays, car problems, missed buses, delayed mail, confused communications and increased involvement with siblings and relatives who you haven't seen for ages. ("Can you spare $50?") The good news is everything to do with home, family and your whole domestic scene is beautifully blessed this week! You might move to nicer digs. You might improve your home through redecorating or pleasing purchases. Family gatherings will delight you. It's all very warm and loving. (Gosh.)

Horoscopes: Feb. 27- Mar. 4

Happy Monday!  I hope everyone had a fabulous, and relaxing weekend. Spokane got hit with a freak snow storm, and I was lucky enough to enjoy the 21 inches of fresh snow at Mt. Spokane. I love being outdoors, and on the slopes. It is such a freeing experience. I find that I often allow myself to be come tied down with make-believe stresses. When I find myself stressing about fictional "what ifs?" I have to remember to breath. With the gift of an extra day this month, allow your self the luxury of calmness. Take time to do something you love! 

Here are your Georgia Nicolls horoscopes, for the week (Feb. 27- Mar. 4). 

Pisces:

This continues to be a fabulous time for you where you can recharge your batteries for the rest of year because the powerful Sun is in your sign. However, Mercury retrograde might stir up financial problems for you. (Gulp.) On the upside, it could generate something positive where you used to work before or regarding something that you used to do to earn money. As retrograde Mercury continues, it will likely bring you into a strong contact with ex-partners in March. (This ain't gonna go away.) Get used to it. If you are looking for work, apply where you worked before or even applied before. Retrace your footsteps. (But wear new shoes.)

Aries:

Since Mercury is going to go retrograde in your sign on March 11, act quickly if there are any important projects you want to begin. On the other hand, (you have different rings) you might look forward to the month of March as being a time where you will easily finish things and wrap up projects that are already on the go. This should be heartening news for you! You start so many things, you have lots of stuff that could be finished, if you care to do so. If this is the case - March is the month for you! If there is something you want to know more about, or there are answers you are seeking or solutions you are striving for, you will likely be successful in March. You might also find yourself repeating something (like a tape loop) that you do in private or behind the scenes. This continues to be a popular time for you. Enjoy schmoozing with others, especially in clubs and groups.

Gemini:

With the Sun still high in your chart acting like a spotlight on you, of course bosses, parents and other VIPs notice you. However, you'll also find yourself running into old friends and contacts from clubs, groups and organizations that you used to belong to (or perhaps still do). Because you're so high viz right now, this could be one of the reasons old contacts can spot you! Enjoy these exchanges. It's good to have history with others. Plus you love to catch up on gossip. Whoa Nellie! The month of March will be a bit off kilter because Mercury retrograde is at the top of your chart. This also means if you wanted to make a pitch to someone in a position of authority, or you wanted to get permission or approval or make a great impression, March is a good time to do this if you have contacted these people before. In other words, it's your second kick at the can. You might be surprised at your good fortune! (Hey, you can't win if you don't buy a ticket.)

Leo:

Travel anywhere in March will be tricky because Mercury retrograde will dog your steps causing delays and minor headaches. According to astrology, the best way to address this is to go someplace you've been to before. In other words, in a way you are going "backwards" by retracing your steps. During any Mercury retrograde time, going backwards is easy! This is also a great month to finish up a book, whether you're writing, editing or proofing it. It's an excellent time to finish anything related to higher education: your thesis, a big term paper, a study project. Reaching back into the past and finishing what is already on your plate will apply also to dealing with foreign countries and anything to do with the media. Good luck!

Virgo:

More than any other sign, you will find this Mercury retrograde is beneficial. (Of course, you won't get off the hook entirely.) Essentially, the month of March is the perfect time for you to wrap up loose details about bills, debt, taxes, inheritances, wills, estates and shared property. You'll be shocked at how easy it will be and how quickly things will be finished. I kid you not. This is how to work with Mercury retrograde. Admittedly, because Mercury retrograde causes delays and misplaced paperwork, some of this will occur. But it won't be a big deal. Continue to get as much rest as you can in the next month because you need it!

Libra:

Because you're trying to be efficient plus you're working hard, the fallout of Mercury retrograde in March will not be a welcome thing because it will cause goofy mistakes and mixed-up communications. For sure, it will attract ex-partners and close friends from your past. (If running into an ex-partner is a bummer, get emotionally prepared for this. It's going to happen.) Fortunately, fair Venus, directly opposite your sign, sweetens your relations with others in the next few weeks. You can slide pretty far on this. Secret love affairs plus gifts and favours from others also stir the pot nicely. (Hmmm, secret love affairs and ex-partners are an interesting possibility.)

Scorpio:

You're in a playful, romantic mood now, no question. Sports, fun times with children, and getaway vacations will all appeal to you. Actually, no wonder you want to escape on a vacation; Mercury retrograde will affect your employment scene for the next month. This means that communications, paperwork and details (including transportation) related to your job will be full of silly mistakes and delays. Deliveries will be made. (Let's hope this doesn't apply to paycheques.) On the upside, you might run into people you used to work with. There is definitely a quality of deja vu to your job. "Didn't this happen once before?" Am I starring in Bad Movie II?

Sagittarius:

Home, family and domestic matters continue to be your top priority. Nevertheless, your life could be interrupted because suddenly an old flame is back on the scene. ("Elvis!") Or perhaps you're rehashing old issues with ex-partners about the kids. (That's always fun.) In a different vein (other arm), the month ahead is a wonderful time for you to finish creative projects. Your ambition continues to be strong, and your chances to improve your job or get a better job also continue to be excellent! Just look good at all times in case you meet the ex-lover. Capricorn:

A busy time! Travel opportunities continue as well as wonderful opportunities in publishing, the media, medicine, the law and dealing with foreign countries. Chances to slip away on vacation or generate excitement through new love affairs and romantic involvements look good as well. Plus your kids are getting straight A's along with their straight teeth. But you know there's a "but" lurking, don't you? You're right. Mercury retrograde might bring relatives camped on your doorstep, sleeping on your sofa and eating out of your fridge. The good news is you might have a chance to re-open past real-estate deals that went sour. (This time they might work.)

Aquarius:  

This particular Mercury retrograde will challenge you because it affects all the things it's notorious for! Expect delays due to flat tires, dead batteries, missed buses, etc.) Your communications with others will also suffer. Lost paperwork, missed phone messages, goofy communications and blown appointments (you're waiting at one place and your friend is waiting in another) will be rampant in March. Just allow extra time for everything and stay on good terms with your sense of humour. Remember, you have much to look forward to in your home-and-family scene this year.

Horoscopes: Jan.23-29

Today at 3:40 pm the new moon that rises, marks the start of the lunar calender. Today January 23rd will evolve to be the first day of a two week long celebration that rings in the Chinese new year. 2012, is the year of the water dragon. I don't know much about Chinese culture or their new year celebrations. But I am eager to research the festivities. Day one of Chinese New year is about welcoming the deities of heaven and earth. 

I know that in celebration of Chinese New Year I really should be posting a Chinese horoscope, but before I do I have to learn more about the Chinese zodiac. I will, But right now just the ordinary star sign will have to do. Happy Chinese New Year!

Aquarius:

This is an unusually passionate year for your sign! (Your gonads are in overdrive.) Embrace this passion, own it and enjoy it! (Never resist temptation because it might not come your way again.) However, many of you will have to deal with disputes with others about shared property or about a difference in values. Resolve to do this as gracefully as possible. Try to appreciate that not everyone shares your values. Also try to appreciate that your values might not necessarily be the only way of looking at things. When you get handle on this, you will see that you are actually transforming the way you assert yourself in the world.

Pisces:

Patience is a wonderful thing because it is the antidote to anger. And anger, of course, serves no purpose other than to make everyone miserable. Therefore, patience is very useful because it can help you avoid a lot of bad scenes and nasty moments. (An understatement!) Make a resolution to be patient with partners and close friends this year because if you aren't patient - you'll have mucho conflicts, and your relationships will suffer. Of course, it's good to be able to assert yourself and stand up for your own best interests. This is a good thing. There's nothing noble in being a doormat. But being angry with loved ones is such a bummer. Make your resolutions simple: Resolve to cultivate more patience. You'll be a better person for it.

Aries:

It is very obvious where Aries people can most successfully make resolutions this year. Without question, you can resolve to do something to improve your health! Obviously, the approach might be two fold: eliminating or reducing habits that are harmful, as well as introducing new habits that improve your diet and improve your exercise regime. (At least, you could jog to the fridge.) In addition, you will find it very easy to get better organized and develop little systems that help you to stay better organized at home and at work for the rest of your year. Hey - why not the rest of your life?

Taurus:

If you want to set resolutions as this Year of the Dragon begins, definitely focus on fun stuff: vacations, romance, children, socializing, exploring the arts and expressing your creativity. Make sure you have a vacation this year. (You love vacations because you can let your hair down and go crazy; yet, you know everything at home is just as you left it.) Plan to regularly enjoy playful times with children. Plan to catch more theatre, watch movies or sports. Be receptive to new romance in your life. Do find ways to do something that expresses your creativity. It doesn't matter if you have talent - it's the doing that counts. After all, you're not a noun - you're a verb!

Gemini:

When it comes to making resolutions, you'll be most successful if you use an existing energy that is already happening. All Geminis aggressively want to improve their home base. You've got plans to change things, fix what is broken, repair something or completely renovate. (I'm sure you've already been surprised at the energy you're putting out at home.) Get as much done as you can this year because you're super motivated to do this. Unfortunately, if your efforts are thwarted or frustrated by others, domestic tension will break out! Grrr. Then you'll have to be patient. Ubi mel ibi apes. (Honey attracts bees.)

Cancer:

The best area for you to focus on for new resolutions for this Year of the Dragon is related to communications to others, especially, with siblings, relatives and neighbours. (Did I hear a groan?) This year, you are much more assertive in all your communications with everyone. (Surely, you have noticed.) You can use this in a positive way if you need to market, sell, teach, act or persuade others to do something. But do rein it in a bit if you're socializing. Conflict with siblings, relatives and neighbours is a strong possibility. So what are you going to do about it? This is not a fun situation. Instead, it needs to be resolved - somehow.

Leo:

To make resolutions, it's easiest to follow whatever energy is naturally taking place for your sign. For Leos - it's all about money, cash flow and earning money. It's also about your possessions and how you use them to run your life more efficiently. This is where you have to focus. What can you do to get a better job or boost your earnings? What can you do to save some of what you already earn to feel richer? And what can you do to be more in control of everything you own so that you're not victimized by all your stuff. Virgo:

More than any other sign, you're gung ho! When this year began, you hit the ground running. You feel the invigorating effects of fiery Mars because it is in your sign. It's like you're riding a rocket! It would be crazy not to figure out how to use this increased energy that's at your disposal. For starters, any kind of physical sports or exercise is an obvious choice because you've got energy to burn! But you can also channel this energy in another way. Libra:

Because the resources of others are available to you this year, people can help you. You have many opportunities at your fingertips! Rather than doing something externally, your Dragon Year resolution will be about acquiring a new headspace. It's time to battle with your demons! Scorpio:

This year, you can join forces with others to make great changes to achieve what you want. Make sure your resolutions involve working with others. Join groups, clubs and associations to make your energy snowball in the direction you want. Or you can direct the efforts, talents and energies of others to make something happen. Whatever the case, it will entail becoming involved with others. This is your path this year. Also, this will nicely balance a different kind of energy that forces you to let go of people, places and possessions in the next two years.

Sagittarius:

The area where you need to set intentions is simple: Never before have you been so willing to work so hard to succeed! Therefore, focus your energy on your career, your profession and your status in the world plus your public reputation. Do whatever you can to advance in these areas.
