Horoscope: Jan.16- 22

Once Again, Happy Monday. 2012 is swing, and so far moving nicely. For the past week I have been involved with a wonderful fundraiser at Sunshine Village which has been raising money for The Waterkeepers. Growing up in Banff, I never truly realized how lucky I was to be immersed in the Rocky Mountains, until I travelled else wear only to see nature less stunning and madly polluted by human waste. The Waterkeepers in an organization that is important to me, because with out care for the natural grace of our world; there is no care for  us. 

So in the spirit of commitment to resolutions here are your weekly Gorgia Nicols Horoscopes. 

Aquarius:

Glory hallelujah! The Sun has finally returned to your sign, which means it's your turn to recharge your batteries for the rest of the year. Not only will you find yourself highly energized and feeling happier in general, but you will notice that important people and favourable circumstances seem to be coming your way! Quite literally, this is the meaning of "make hay while the sun shines." (OK, it means something else in the prairies but you get my drift.) You'll also be spending money on beautiful things for yourself and loved ones. This is no surprise because you're committed to making your home and your family relationships as wonderful as they can be this year. "More shortbread, anyone?"

Pisces:

This is a great month for you to buy wardrobe items because you like what you see in the mirror. You're diplomatic and charming because fair Venus is in your sign, so you'll enjoy schmoozing. Go dancing! Buy new shoes or boots! However, despite your desire for fun socializing, you also need time alone in the next month. Respect this need for solitude. Hide somewhere to catch your breath and mentally, psychologically and emotionally regroup. Because your birthday is just a month away, this is the perfect time to strategize what you want your new year to be. Be specific in your expectations. Write down some goals. What are three things you want to embrace in your new year? (Well, besides that.)

Aries:

In the month ahead, you'll enjoy socializing more! Resolve to get out and schmooze with others. Join clubs, groups and associations. Take a class. Since you'll be more aware of your goals in the month ahead, talk about your hopes and dreams for the future with others because their feedback will help you. Taurus:

During the next six weeks, the Sun will slowly travel across the top of your chart acting like a spotlight on you. This is the only time all year this happens, so make the most of it! Furthermore, this spotlight flatters you. ("Are you ready for your close-up, Miss Garbo?") It makes you look unusually competent to those in positions of authority like bosses, parents, teachers, VIPs and the police. That's why the next month is the time to make your pitch! Present your agenda. Ask for approval for whatever you want. Get permission from the powers that be to go forward with your plans. Since vacations appeal to you now and in the next few months, ask for time off.

Gemini:

As the Sun changes signs, your desire to travel in the next six weeks will increase dramatically. You want to see more of the world because you want to increase your experience of life! This means you want to expand your horizons through travel or study. You're unusually open to new adventures, unusual ideas and exploring religious and philosophical concepts. You'll enjoy talking to people from different backgrounds and other cultures. The month ahead is also a wonderful time to make headway in publishing, the media, medicine, the law and anything to do with higher education. Take a course! Learn a new language! Cancer:

You've been focused on securing your home base through residential moves or repairing and renovating where you live. You want a solid base from which to operate. (Of course! You're a nester.) Naturally, this takes money and juggling resources, bills, taxes, debt and, possibly, insurance matters. In the next six weeks, focus on cleaning up whatever you can in these areas. Read a financial book on how to reduce your debt. Get tips about taxes, handling your expenses and dealing with shared property. You might have to work with someone whose values differ from yours. (Grrr. Not always easy.) Get on the ball because the early bird gets the coffee left over from last night.

Leo:

This is the only time all year when the Sun is as far away from you as it ever gets. However, the Sun is your source of energy. This is why you need more sleep in the next month. Just accept this and do yourself a favour by accommodating your need for more rest. (Fortunately, romance is very sweet and affectionate, so it might be easy to stay in bed.) Virgo:

Scorpio:

Sagittarius:

You're busy! In the month ahead, you will hit the ground running. Just accept this accelerated tempo and get with the program. You've got things to do, places to go and people to see. Plan on taking short trips, doing mucho errands plus reading, writing and studying more than usual. But life will be exciting! You have so much going on in so many fronts at the same time. Gasp. Capricorn:

Horoscope: Jan. 9-15

Happy Monday. I presume many of you are just getting back into the work day groove after the fuss of the holidays. When the excitement of the holidays is packed away I always seem to find myself suffering from a "holiday hangover." Where I miss the lazy days, and rich foods. I still have a week off of university and I'm starting to get bored of agenda-less days. So in honor of the first official workweek of 2012, here is your Gorgia Nicols horoscope. 

Capricorn:

This is an interesting financial week for you. In one way, some of you might be quite extravagant. (Many of you love designer labels.) You will certainly be tempted, especially late in the week, to buy something elegant and impossibly gorgeous. Fortunately, some of you will see new ways of earning money that might be related to high fashion, luxury, shoes, or anything to do with the ocean, pharmaceuticals, gas, oil and paint. In fact, the hospitality industry and sports could be part of how you might boost your income as well. Some will use their money and wealth in a charitable way. Good! What goes around comes around.

Aquarius:

It's so easy to be oh-so-charming this week, isn't it? You're happy with life and you feel enriched by whatever is happening at home or within your family. Your ideals are aroused but they're not off the wall. In fact, discussions with someone from another country or a different background are solid. A teacher or guru figure might enter your life. Perhaps your good fortune causes you to ponder profundity and entertain concepts that are philosophical, religious or worldly. Cancer:

After the dust settles, by the end of the week, you should be coming out ahead. Yay! It appears that someone is sympathetic to your needs (although in some cases this will be reversed). Leo:

Weekly Horoscope: Jan 2-8

Well Happy New Years, and "reset" month. I like routines, and I have this need to always fit in my blog and my workout in to a daily routine. Yesterday proved impossible and unfeasible to do so. I could feel my anxiety and frustration at the disruption of routine rise; until I realized that January 1st offers a reminder to activate a personal improvement reset switch. For 2012, I hope to swing with the punches better and allow my routine to camouflage into its time and location restricted environment. My daily workout and blog is crazy important to me, however if my setting prevents me form performing my routine compulsion I have to remember that it is OK. I can catch up tomorrow. I spent all day yesterday traveling back from MIA to YYC.

Capricorn:

Scorpio:

Boxing Week Horoscope

In common wealth countries the day after Christmas is Boxing day. The historical tradition of Boxing Day is that of generosity. In England in the 1800's families would "box" up their left overs and deliver them to families or individuals of less fortune. In boxing day tradition the wealthier families would also gather up old clothes and toys that were no longer needed by the family and would gift them to families in need. (Think Tiny Tim, and Scrooge). Today, unfortunately, Boxing Day has morphed in to a day of chaos and shopping extravagance.

In recent months and certainly for months in the future, you will want to travel more than you usually do - by far! At times, you will barely have time to unpack and repack your bags! You want adventure and new knowledge. You feel strongly about your ideas and beliefs now. (Be careful of heavy-duty proselytizing.) Do whatever you can to expand your mind through study, meeting different people and visiting new places. This is definitely a time where you can expand your world. Some will make great gains in publishing, the media, medicine, the law and postsecondary education.

Aquarius:

Mars will strongly highlight - for months ahead - anything to do with shared property, inheritances, insurance matters, taxes, debt and whatever you share or own jointly with others. In addition, it will also strongly energize your sex life. Well, none of this is boring, is it? Notice the terms highlight and energize. In other words, you can sink into conflict and do battle with others about these areas, or you can join forces to use joint resources (or even the wealth and resources of others) to do something that makes you proud. Don't expect too much of others. Just try to get cooperation. By the time Mars has left this part of your chart, it will signal the passing of something old to make room for something new.

Pisces:

I think you have the trickiest and most challenging situation in the coming months because the energetic focus of Mars is opposite your sign. This opposition can easily translate into conflicts with close friends and partners. Par for the course. Textbook. But it doesn't have to be this way. If you are very mindful and conscious of what you're doing, you can learn a lot about how you always relate to those who are closest to you. Aries:

You're getting off easier than other signs with this eight-month transit of Mars in Virgo. Taurus:

Cancer:

Virgo:
